Ancient Forest Sangha of Humboldt Bay

Welcome Friends!

Please note: We are again meeting in person most Thursday evenings at 7pm at HUUF. Updates will be posted here and in the weekly email.

GATHERINGS: Now that in-person gatherings are again possible, we meet weekly from 7pm to 8:15pm on Thursday nights at the Humboldt Unitarian Universalist Fellowship 24 Fellowship Way, Bayside. This location is wheelchair accessible. We suggest that you review the gathering format before joining us, so you’ll have an idea of what we do. If you are new to meditation, our Readings and Links page has many resources, including a link to a guided meditation by Thich Nhat Hanh that will get you started. We meet via Zoom on the first Thursdays of the month, so that our Dharma Teacher Alexa can lead the gathering. We do not hold a regular gathering on the fifth Thursdays and usually schedule a potluck, with information going out to the email list that week.

OUR TEACHER: We are pleased to have Dharma Teacher Alexa Singer-Telles join us once a month, usually the first Thursday, from 7-8:30 pm, via Zoom. You can find the dates that Alexa is joining us by checking our calendar.

DAYS of MINDFULNESS: We also hold Days of Mindfulness (DOM), usually in spring and fall that are open to all. DOMs are led by Alexa (or another visiting Dharma Teacher in the Plum Village lineage) and offer an opportunity to spend 4-5 hours immersing ourselves in the dharma with dharma talks, songs, poetry, deep relaxation, dharma sharing, lunch in noble silence and other activities. Bring lunch, water, a blanket or yoga mat for total relaxation and a cushion if you prefer to use one.

Our next Day of Mindfulness is planned for Saturday June 18, 2022. Find more information, including how to register here.

DANA (generosity):  In keeping with the Buddhist spirit of offering the teachings freely, all are welcome to the sangha, regardless of ability to give time or money. Our presence and practice together is the most important thing; between all of us, the needs of the sangha will be met. We do gratefully accept donations to help with sangha expenses. If you wish to support our sangha, dana checks may be made out and sent to:
